Your data, plainly.
We collect what it takes to run an honest review site and nothing for advertisers. This page explains what that is, in plain language. Regulars is run from the Philippines under its Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173), and we also follow the rights people have where they live, such as the GDPR in Europe and the UK and privacy laws in the US.

What we collect
- Your account: your email, and if you sign in with Google, your name and profile photo. Your username, display name and home town are public.
- What you post: reviews, ratings, photos, places you add, who you follow and places you save. Reviews, photos, places and follows are public. Saves are private to you.
- Visit location: when you post, we use the location inside your photo, or your phone's location at that moment, to check whether you were at the place. We keep that location privately to support the Visit checked mark. It is never shown to anyone, including other users.
- Notification address: if you turn on push notifications, a technical address for your device so we can send them. It is deleted when you turn them off or delete your account.
- If you claim a place: the contact details you give us to check you run it, seen only by our moderators. Once approved, your public profile is shown as the place's owner, along with the details and photos you add.
- Reports you file, which only our moderators see.
- How the site is used: we count visits with Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics: which pages are opened and which steps people reach (for example, starting a review), without your name, email or account. We use it only to find places where people get stuck and fix them. In Europe, the UK and Switzerland it only runs if you say yes when we ask; everywhere, you can block it with your browser's tracking protection or an ad blocker, and the site works the same. We also count page views with Vercel Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and nothing that identifies you; if you say no to analytics, it stops too.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your data or share it with advertisers.
- We remove all hidden data (including location) from photos before they're uploaded.
- "Near you" uses your location inside your browser to sort places. That location isn't sent to us or stored.
Who helps us run Regulars
These services process data for us, only to run the site:
- Supabase: our database, sign-in and photo storage (servers in Singapore).
- OpenStreetMap and MapTiler: where restaurant listings and map tiles come from; MapTiler also turns a position into a town name.
- Vercel: hosts the website and counts page views without cookies (Vercel Web Analytics).
- Google: if you choose to sign in with Google, and for Google Tag Manager, which counts page visits for us. We use it for usage statistics only, not for advertising.
- Sentry: reports technical errors (what broke, on which page, in which browser) so we can fix them. It does not record what you do, and we strip your address, cookies and anything after the page's web address.
- Our map provider: shows map tiles, which means it sees the map area you view.
Where your data goes
Wherever you are, your data is stored in Singapore and handled by the services above, some of which are based in the United States. When data leaves your country we rely on those providers' standard contractual safeguards. We only send what each service needs to do its job.
Analytics choice
If you're in Europe, the UK or Switzerland we ask before counting visits. You can change your answer here at any time.
How long we keep it
Your account and posts stay until you delete them or ask us to. When you delete a review, its photos and private visit location go with it. Reports are kept as long as needed to handle them and to deal with repeat abuse.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, correct it, get a copy to take elsewhere, or have it deleted, and you can object to how we use it. You can download a copy of your data and delete your account yourself in Edit profile. You can also complain to a data protection authority: the National Privacy Commission in the Philippines, or the one where you live (in Europe and the UK, your national supervisory authority). We don't sell personal data, so there is nothing to opt out of under US state laws, but you can still ask us what we hold.
Email support@regulars.food for any of these, including deleting your account.
Changes
If we change how we use your data, we'll update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
